What is the purpose of the Destiny Village Child Sponsorship Program?
The Child Sponsorship program is a blessing to our children both financially and relationally. Becoming a sponsor helps Destiny Village financially secure care for the children that come through our gates. At the same time it gives you the opportunity to create a relationship with one of our beautiful children. You are able to communicate with them, learn more about them and support them during their time at Destiny Village. It means so much to them that there is someone who cares deeply for them and has chosen specifically to sponsor them. Your sponsorship is a valuable part of our ministry. 
 
Do I get to choose the child I sponsor?
Yes! All of our children's photos can be found on our website under the "Our Children" tab. If there is a child that stands out and you would like to know more about them, feel free to email us! 
 
How will my sponsorship donation be used?
Your $30/month sponsorship donation is used to meet the immediate needs of the children at Destiny Village while receiving the care that is vital to their growth and development physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Your sponsorship is helping to raise your child. That means you are helping to provide them with 3 meals a day, schooling, clothes, health care, transportation, shelter, etc.

How can I communicate with the child I sponsor?
Destiny Village's sponsorship program allows a child and their sponsor to exchange letters and photos through email, and videos. 
 
How often will I hear from my sponsored child?
You can expect a photo, email or video update from your child once every three to four months. Our goal is to increase communication over time. We believe that will enhance this experience for our children and their sponsor. 
 
Will I be the only person sponsoring the child I’m helping?
At Destiny Village we believe that sponsors are a huge part of our kids' lives and can bless them tremendously. Our kids love finding out that there is a person or family in the United States that "chose" them and wants to become a consistent part of their lives. Because all of our kids have been separated from most, if not all, of their family members, we want to love and encourage them as much as we can. For these reasons we allow our children to have more than one sponsor. We also allow more than one sponsor because, just like American children, it costs more than $30/month to raise a child. 
 
How long will my child sponsorship last?
You determine the length of your personal commitment to your child! 
 
May I send gifts to my child?
Not at this time. Haiti does not have a postal service so we are not able to accept shipped gifts. However, we do encourage you to initiate communication with your child/ren, as indicated by sponsorship coordinator.  Once you commit to the sponsorship program, you will receive more information on this process. There may be times throughout the year where you may have the opportunity to send a small gift or have a gift bought on your behalf. We will notify you if these opportunities arise. 

 Do I have a chance to meet my sponsored child?
Yes! We would love to have you come visit Destiny Village to meet your sponsored child and all of the other children. 

 Are my contributions to Destiny Village, including my sponsorship support and gifts, tax-deductible?
Yes, Destiny Village is a registered 501c3 nonprofit. At the beginning of each year, we will send you a statement that includes your donations for the prior year.
